Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Development of specific tools and devices for space exploration”. The appointee will work closely with the project leader to fabricate mechanical parts for prototype building, ensuring precision and adherence to project specifications.
The appointee will be required to:
(a) assist in the fabrication of mechanical components using multi-axis CNC machines;
(b) perform CAM programming (e.g., MasterCAM) to optimise machining processes;
(c) ensure quality control and accuracy of all fabricated parts;
(d) collaborate with the project team to troubleshoot and refine designs as needed; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) an honours degree or an equivalent qualification;
(b) solid hands-on experience in operating multi-axis CNC machines; and
(c) proficiency in CAM programming (e.g., MasterCAM).
