Part-time Research Associate

[Appointment period: twelve months]
Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research projects – “Ecological HCI: Toward a nature-centered future for interaction design” and “Dynamic illuminated reinterpretation of traditional Chinese silk embroidery motifs”. He/She will be required to:
(a) conduct and coordinate project-related research;
(b) contribute to the design, development and evaluation of interactive systems and prototypes;
(c) plan and conduct literature reviews, workshops and user studies;
(d) collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative research data;
(e) prepare project reports, publications and other research deliverables; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a master’s degree or above in a relevant discipline;
(b) relevant research or professional experience in human-computer interaction (HCI), design research or related areas;
(c) the ability to conduct research independently and coordinate project activities;
(d) a good command of written and spoken English;
(e) good communication and teamwork skills; and
(f) the ability to meet project deadlines.

Conditions of Service
The remuneration rate is HK$181 per hour.
