Assistant Officer

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    provide administrative support to the daily operation of the PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research (PAIR)’s central office;

(b)    involve in the office administration, including human resources and finance-related matters, office management, and support for marketing and promotional activities, etc.;

(c)    facilitate and support international collaborative research initiatives;

(d)    collect data / information as well as compile reports and Excel tables;  

(e)    provide onsite logistics support to scholarly events, activities and delegation visits;

(f)     handle information flow and maintain an effective record and filing system;

(g)    liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders and handle enquiries; and

(h)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of PAIR or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree with at least three years of relevant post-qualification work experience;

(b)    have good problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills;

(c)    be well-organised and highly attentive to details;

(d)    be able to work independently and handle sensitive matters with alertness and prudence;

(e)    have good computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; and

(f)     be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.

Preference will be given to those with solid relevant work experience in tertiary institutions.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
