Marketing Officer (Mainland Brand Promotion)

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) contribute actively to the University's brand promotion and image enhancement in the Chinese Mainland to increase its regional brand influence;
(b) develop, create and publish engaging visual contents such as high-quality short videos on the University's new media platforms in the Chinese Mainland, including but not limited to WeChat, WeChat Channels, Xiaohongshu, Weibo, Zhihu, etc.;
(c) assist in overseeing day-to-day operations of new media platforms, content planning and creation, graphic design, platform interaction and data analysis;
(d) apply cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies to optimise new media content creation, layout design, image/video generation and operational efficiency;
(e) support the building and maintaining of strong relationships with mainstream media and major social media in the Chinese Mainland by providing promotional information about the University regularly;
(f) collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to obtain the latest news and information;
(g) assist in preparing various speeches, reports and other documents as required; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Mainland Development or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and travel outside Hong Kong for the purposes of attending meetings and providing support to projects/activities/events.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree in Journalism, Communication, Chinese and Cultural Studies, Film and Television Production, New Media or other related disciplines;
(b) have at least three years of experience in traditional and new media, preferably with experience in China market;
(c) possess hands-on experience and proficiency in video production, including videography, camera operations, scriptwriting, video editing (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut/Jianying) and post-production;
(d) be proficient in applying cutting-edge AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Canva, Gaoding, Seedance, Xiumi, etc.) for text generation, graphic design and video production;
(e) possess the ability to organise and execute online and offline activities effectively, enhancing user participation and interaction on new media platforms;
(f) have skills in platform operations, community management and data analysis;
(g) be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data visualisation;
(h) possess the ability to prepare various types of proposals, speeches and other documents in both English and Chinese;
(i) have good team spirit with strong initiative and problem-solving skills; and
(j) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua.
Preference will be given to those with a strong visual portfolio, a background in big data, and financial management experience.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
