Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the project – “Execution assurance for autonomous dining: Enabling safe and trusted agentic commerce”. He/She will be required to:
(a) lead cutting-edge research on agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents and execution assurance for autonomous commerce systems;
(b) design and develop the execution assurance agent layer, including execution validation, declarative policy engines, state-machine-based execution control and safety-aware decision making;
(c) develop novel AI techniques for trustworthy autonomous execution, transaction integrity, fail-safe mechanisms and auditable execution;
(d) collaborate with industrial partners to integrate AI agents with cooking robots, smart vending machines, IoT devices and autonomous retail systems;
(e) supervise research assistants and postgraduate students and contribute to the overall technical leadership of the project; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader, the Head of Unit or their delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Robotics or a related discipline or an equivalent qualification and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application;
(b) strong research experience in one or more of the following areas: LLMs, AI agents / agentic AI, multi-agent systems, AI planning and reasoning, distributed systems, software verification and/or formal methods;
(c) excellent programming skills in Python and experience with modern AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch), LLM ecosystems and agent development frameworks; and
(d) strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
