Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the project - “Social impact assessment services for the “Active Minds, Active Lives” programme”. He/She will be required to:
(a) assist in the recruitment of participants and follow-up across study cohorts (young-old trainees, older adults and community event participants) at training and service venues;
(b) coordinate surveys and assessments (online survey, tablet-assisted electronic questionnaires, paper forms and telephone follow-up) with older adults;
(c) assist in data collection for the qualitative strand, including interview/focus group logistics, transcription and coding support;
(d) manage study databases and cohort calendars, and perform tracking, reminders and attrition follow-up;
(e) liaise with non-governmental organisation partner staff, part-time data collectors and project team members to coordinate fieldwork schedules and venue arrangements;
(f) assist in preparing progress reports, finding highlights, presentations and other project deliverables; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) an honours degree in Nursing, Public Health, Social Sciences, Psychology, Gerontology or a related discipline or an equivalent qualification;
(b) experience in community-based research, survey administration and/or fieldwork coordination, preferably involving older adults;
(c) proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as online survey platforms;
(d) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese;
(e) good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with older adults and community partners patiently and professionally; and
(f) good organisational skills, a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preference will be given to those with experience in randomised controlled trials, programme evaluation, qualitative research, or the use of data management/analysis software, such as SPSS, R, or NVivo.
