Part-time Project Associate / Part-time Project Assistant (two posts)

Duties
The appointees will assist the project leaders in the project – “The Hong Kong Jockey Club strengthening physical literacy for preschoolers”. They will be required to:
(a) assist in capacity-building, stakeholder engagement, training workshop delivery as well as knowledge-dissemination components of the initiative;
(b) play a pivotal role in translating design research and spatial interventions into frontline educational practices, including co-designing and facilitating interactive workshops, developing educational toolkits and self-help training manuals, conducting on-site spatial and storage consultations, and executing external stakeholder engagement programme;
(c) plan, design and co-deliver multi-tier training workshops for kindergarten teachers, school leaders and parents across project and network schools;
(d) lead or assist in conducting theme-based desktop and fieldwork research, story mapping, spatial/ site observation fieldnotes and related documentation as required by the client and project team to support knowledge transfer and dissemination;
(e) co-develop and format practical, scalable educational toolkits, including self-help resource toolkits, integrated manuals and storage management visualised guides, and design-thinking activity kits;
(f) synthesise qualitative insights from user engagement during design prototype development and iterative testing stages, and liaise with researchers and designers (both internal and external), as well as external partners and stakeholders, to understand the landscape and develop applied research and action research opportunities; and
(g) perform other duties as assigned by the Interim Director of Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation or his/her delegates.
The appointees may be required to work occasionally outside normal office hours, including weekday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Project Associate post should have a master’s degree in Design (i.e. Environmental and Interior Design, Information Design, Art Education, Social Design, etc.) or a good honours degree in one of the said disciplines with at least three years of relevant work experience.
Applicants for the Project Assistant post should have an honours degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines, preferably with at least one year of relevant work experience.
Applicants should also:
(a) demonstrate strong proficiency in graphic and visual communication tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud) to produce clear, engaging training materials, visual guides and presentation decks;
(b) be able to communicate complex design concepts in clear, accessible language for non-designers;
(c) process qualitative research and interpersonal skills to support various desktop and school-facing field work activities;
(d) have experience in project management and/or fieldwork supervision;
(e) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua;
(f) possess proven ability to engage diverse audiences/ stakeholders in interactive design workshops; and
(g) be adaptable, proactive and able to multi-task and work under pressure.
Preference will be given to those with proficiency in 3D, print publicity, GenAI, AgenticAI, and/or tools for project management.

Conditions of Service
The remuneration rates are HK$181 per hour for the post of Project Associate and HK$125 per hour for the post of Project Assistant.
