Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Elucidating the molecular mechanisms of a supplement as a novel myopia therapeutics by next generation proteomics”. He/She will be required to perform:
(a) iometric (refraction; A-scan) measurement on a guinea pig animal model;
(b) drug application on animal eyes and tissue dissection;
(c) immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy and statistics;
(d) ass spectrometry and bioinformatics analysis; and
(e) any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
The appointee will required to travel to the Chinese Mainland occasionally.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Research Fellow post should have a doctoral degree plus at least three years of postdoctoral research experience or equivalent qualifications and experience.
Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow post should have a doctoral degree in Engineering or Optics or an equivalent qualification and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.
Applicants for the Research Associate post should have a master’s degree or a good honours degree with three or more years of research/relevant work experience.
Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree in Optometry, Ophthalmology or Biochemistry or an equivalent qualification.
Applicants should also have:
(a) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese or Putonghua; and
(b) good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Preference will be given to those with relevant work experience and publications of study.
