Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Joint research centre for primary health care”. He/She will be required to:
(a) design, coordinate and implement intervention studies, including randomised controlled trials, pragmatic studies, implementation studies and community-based health programmes;
(b) coordinate the implementation and evaluation of health and health-social care programmes in collaboration with community organisations, healthcare providers, social service agencies and other stakeholders;
(c) develop study protocols, intervention procedures, data collection plans, standard operating procedures and study-related materials;
(d) oversee the recruitment of participants, intervention delivery, data collection, quality assurance, and research project management;
(e) conduct quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis and contribute to the interpretation of study findings;
(f) prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, conference abstracts and presentations, research reports, and other knowledge dissemination materials;
(g) contribute to the preparation of research grant applications and the development of new research projects;
(h) supervise and provide guidance to research and project staff;
(i) liaise with community partners and other stakeholders to facilitate programme implementation and engagement, and knowledge translation; and
(j) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a doctoral degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Behavioural Sciences or a related discipline or an equivalent qualification and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application;
(b) research experience in intervention studies, particularly randomised controlled trials, pragmatic trials, implementation studies or community-based intervention programmes;
(c) experience in community health, primary healthcare, health-social collaboration, integrated care or community-based health promotion programmes;
(d) experience working with community organisations, non-governmental organisations, healthcare providers, social service agencies or other external stakeholders;
(e) good knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods and experience in research data analysis;
(f) a good publication record and experience in preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals;
(g) a high level of proficiency in written and spoken English; and
(h) strong organisational, interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills.
Preference will be given to those with (i) experience in research project management, grant preparation, programme evaluation or implementation science; and (ii) proficiency in Cantonese and/or Putonghua.
