Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “WASTES to WINGS - Constructing a high-throughput Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) research platform to facilitate zero carbon air travel in Hong Kong”. They will be required to be involved real-time monitoring of the new biorefinery process for SAF production, signal/data analysis, AI-assisted modelling, sensor and data-logging development, software integration, and research reporting.
For the post of Postdoctoral Fellow, the appointee will also be required to lead the biorefinery experiments, AI tool development, data-science and signal-analysis tasks, including processing experimental signals, integrating datasets, developing machine-learning models, and mapping measured fuel properties to SAF performance.
For the post of Research Assistant, the appointee will also be required to support sensor development, data acquisition and logging, hardware / software integration, calibration, testing, and routine operation of the research platform.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow post should have a PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data / Computer Science, Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related discipline, and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application. Preference will be given to those with strong programming and modelling skills.
Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree or a master’s degree in Engineering or Science. Preference will be given to those with experience in environmental lab, chemical engineering, sensors, data loggers, basic computer software / programming, electronics and laboratory testing.
