Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Advancing the detection of developmental language disorder in children using large language models”, which involves large language models (LLMs), including the development and adaptation of foundation models, the design and implementation of agentic AI systems, and their applications in neurolinguistics, healthcare, digital humanities, and related interdisciplinary areas. He/She will be required to:
(a) conduct literature reviews;
(b) assist in data collection, pre-processing and analysis;
(c) support platform deployment and algorithmic development;
(d) participate in the writing, preparation and publication of scientific papers; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have an honours degree and preferably a master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Natural Language Processing (NLP), LLMs or a related discipline;
(b) possess solid knowledge of computational linguistics, NLP, LLMs and Agentic AI;
(c) be native speakers of Mandarin and Cantonese, with a high level of proficiency in English; and
(d) demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preference will be given to applicants with publications in top-tier conferences/journals or with prior experience in LLM- or NLP-related research projects.
