[Appointment period: twelve months]
Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Research Centre for SHARP Vision”. He/She will be required to:
(a) coordinate events and conferences for the Asia-Pacific Tele-Ophthalmology Society;
(b) provide administrative, logistics and onsite support to the Research Centre's corporate and member events such as corporate functions, social and leisure activities, industry conferences and seminars, and the corresponding follow up tasks;
(c) assist in managing budgets and expenses, including processing expense approvals and maintaining accurate financial records;
(d) prepare promotional materials such as event flyers, and update digital platforms which include webpages and other relevant platforms;
(e) manage general email enquiries in a professional manner; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research Centre or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours occasionally.
Qualifications
Applicants should have
(a) a master’s degree or a good honours degree with three or more years of research / relevant work experience;
(b) strong self-motivation, with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities simultaneously;
(c) strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
(d) a proactive working attitude with the ability to work effectively both as a team player and independently under tight timelines.
Preference will be given to those with at least two years of experience in organising events such as academic conferences and seminars.
