Executive Officer / Assistant Executive Officer (Marketing, Events & Social Media) (Temporary Appointment)

[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties 

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    implement marketing and media plans to achieve the mission and objectives of the Academy;

(b)    organise and manage marketing and promotional activities and events, such as seminars, lectures, conferences, delegation visits and campus tours, etc.;

(c)    prepare promotional and communication materials, maintain and update websites and social media platforms, and other marketing channels;

(d)    serve as a digital content champion by ensuring content consistency across all owned publicity channels, related materials, and activities, in compliance with the University’s guidelines (branding, SEO, websites, social media, etc.), and to support the Office in providing guidance where appropriate;

(e)    develop event work plans, run-downs, timelines, staffing arrangements and operational checklists to support smooth implementation;

(f)     coordinate event registration, participant communications, logistics, on-site operations, post-event surveys and reporting;

(g)    provide secretarial and administrative support to committees, working groups and meetings, including the preparation of papers and minutes;

(h)    maintain professional and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders and organisations; and

(i)     perform any other duties as assigned by the Director/Executive Director of PolyU Aerospace Research Academy or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a recognised degree in Digital Marketing, Marketing, Communications or a related discipline;

(b)    at least five years of relevant work experience in branding, digital marketing, social media and marketing communications;

(c)    strong problem-solving and leadership skills, with a proactive approach in managing multiple priorities effectively;

(d)    excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and professional attitude when engaging with different stakeholders;

(e)    an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua;

(f)     good computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; and

(g)    the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.

Preference will be given to those with work experience gained in the tertiary institutions.  Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Assistant Executive Officer.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
