Senior Student Development Manager

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) assist the Section Head of Student Development Section of the Student Affairs Office (SAO) in resource planning, administration, and the formulation of policies, guidelines and systems;
(b) drive initiatives to advance student development, student organisation governance, and the enhancement of a diverse and inclusive campus;
(c) administer student club registration and provide ongoing operational guidance and support to student organisations;
(d) oversee the management of student amenities designated for student bodies;
(e) collaborate with internal and external units to enhance resources and support for whole-person development as well as facilitate student communication with University leadership;
(f) work closely with other sections of SAO to plan and organise signature events and programmes at University level;
(g) provide secretarial support to committees and working groups;
(h) lead, mentor and supervise staff to ensure smooth operations; and
(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work beyond or outside normal office hours, and travel occasionally to the Chinese Mainland and overseas for liaison and coordination of duties in support of developing strategic collaborations that benefit students.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree;
(b) at least ten years of solid and relevant experience in higher education sector, with a minimum of eight years of supervisory role in leading a team of not less than three members;
(c) the initiative to generate innovative ideas and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels;
(d) the ability to work independently and build strong working relationships with multiple sections, teams and individuals;
(e) the ability to balance multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines; and
(f) proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
