Executive Officer (Temporary Appointment)

[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties 

The appointee will assist in the project - “Early identification and intervention for children and youth in at-risk families”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    manage the administration, implementation, financial and human resources matters of the project;

(b)    plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate networking events, meetings, seminars, workshops and promotional/marketing activities;

(c)    support the planning, coordination and delivery of education and training programmes and related promotional activities;

(d)    coordinate collaborative research projects and liaise with internal departments, administrative units and external stakeholders to maintain good working relationships and execute joint activities;

(e)    provide administrative and operational support to project team members and related committees;

(f)     assist with staff supervision to maintain quality of output and ensure smooth implementation of the project; and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

The appointee may occasionally be required to work irregular hours including weekday evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a)    have a recognised degree in Social Sciences or related disciplines, preferably with a master’s degree in the said discipline;

(b)    have at least five years of relevant working experience, preferably in project coordination, research support and/or marketing communications;

(c)    have extensive experience in leading research projects and conducting research;

(d)    have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua;

(e)    have strong organisational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;

(f)     be highly motivated, detail-oriented and able to work under pressure;

(g)    be dynamic and mature with the passion to build and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders; and

(h)    be a good team player and able to work independently.

Preference will be given to those with working experience gained in tertiary institutions, similar organisations, and/or at-risk families and youth work settings, as well as those with a strong sense of creativity and aesthetics.
