Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a)    provide robust administrative support for one of the following major work areas:

•    assist in the management of staffing matters of constituent departments/schools under the Faculty’s purview, and provide support for research administration including management of research postgraduate programmes hosted by the Faculty; OR

•    provide support to the administration of taught postgraduate programmes, teaching and learning related matters including coordination of centralised exercises, and provide student support services;

(b)    provide secretariat support to committees; 

(c)    liaise with other units of the University and external organisations; 

(d)    support the planning, coordination and implementation of seminars, workshops, projects, special events and promotional activities; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty or his/her delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a)    have a recognised degree with at least five years of solid and supervisory work experience, preferably in tertiary education institutions; 

(b)    have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage; 

(c)    possess effective communication, interpersonal, organisational and multi-tasking skills with sound computer literacy; 

(d)    have a positive working attitude; and

(e)    be a good team player and able to work independently and effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment at a lower level.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. 

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
