Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    provide operational and administrative support to taught programmes and RPg programme, including class timetabling, subject registration and examination, etc.;

(b)    render logistic support to office administration and daily operation of the Department, such as staffing and finance matters, report compilation, counter service, tea and refreshment services, as well as photocopying and mailing service;

(c)    assist in the coordination and organisation of departmental events and meetings;

(d)    answer telephone and email enquiries from staff, students and relevant stakeholders;

(e)    maintain organised filing systems and databases (both physical and electronic);

(f)     manage inventory of office supplies, such as arranging procurement, monitoring stock keeping usage and assisting in the regular inventory checking of office space;

(g)    assist in bookkeeping tasks, such as invoicing and processing receipts; and

(h)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards) and Mathematics; or a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics; or a recognised certificate/diploma or an equivalent qualification;

(b)    have at least two years of post-qualification work experience;

(c)    have a fair command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with knowledge of Putonghua;

(d)    have good computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; 

(e)    have basic knowledge of accounting principles;

(f)     have good communication, interpersonal and coordination skills; and

(g)    be self-motivated and able to work independently.

Preference will be given to those with relevant work experience in tertiary institutions in Hong Kong.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
