Assistant Officer

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide administrative support to postgraduate programmes, including but not limited to admission exercise, class time-tabling, subject registration and examination;
(b) provide secretarial support to committees and working groups;
(c) assist in planning, co-ordinating and implementing promotional and marketing activities, special events, seminars, workshops and projects;
(d) liaise with internal and external parties, including professional bodies;
(e) compile statistical reports and maintain effective record systems and databases;
(f) supervise junior staff and student assistants; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School or her delegates.
The appointee may be required to travel to work outside normal office hours.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree with three years of relevant working experience;
(b) good computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing;
(c) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;
(d) good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; and
(e) a high level of self-motivation and the ability to complete tasks independently.
Preference will be given to those with working experience in tertiary institution.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
