Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) conduct research in Textile Chemistry and Coloration Technology as the main duty and actively pursue external research grants, such as General Research Fund, Innovation and Technology Fund and other competitive external funds, as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator
(b) provide supervision of MPhil or PhD students;
(c) provide quality teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level;
(d) contribute to the School’s service; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the designated project leader, Dean of School or their delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a PhD degree in Textile Chemistry, Coloration, Colour Measurement, Polymer Chemistry, Digital Manufacturing using AI or related disciplines, preferably with at least two years of postdoctoral research experience;
(b) proven experience in university teaching, preferably in Coloration, Colour Management and Technology, and/or track record in research achievement in the above or related areas;
(c) high-impact research and publication record in high quality scholarly journals or strong potential to publish in top-tier refereed journals;
(d) strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research and professional service; and
(e) good communication skills and be able to use English as the medium of instruction.
Preference will be given to those with strong research orientation, a good teaching record and knowledge in colour measurement and colour science.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive package including a medical benefits plan and a gratuity payable upon completion of the term which is normally for two to three years initially, with possibility of extension.
