Assistant Admissions Manager (International Team)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) support the senior members of the International Team to implement the University’s international undergraduate student admissions and recruitment strategy formulation; 

(b) coordinate specific operational segments of the international student admission exercise to undergraduate programmes, such as offer making, student visa application, and qualification verification exercises, in accordance with established admission guidelines and policies; 

(c) manage entry scholarships, special admissions schemes and partnership schemes to ensure a fair and equitable admissions process; 

(d) coordinate and perform the system setup and testing for admissions systems and websites; 

(e) support in implementing student recruitment initiatives and student engagement activities on or off campus to contribute to international recruitment success; 

(f) liaise with internal units as well as external parties in the execution of duties; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work beyond normal office hours during peak season and travel outside Hong Kong occasionally to participate in duty-related events/activities.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree or an equivalent qualification; 

(b) have at least five years of solid work experience, preferably in student admissions within higher education sector;

(c) possess a sound understanding of the current international undergraduate student recruitment and admissions landscape; 

(d) have a strong sense of responsibility, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight timeline; 

(e) be mature, highly self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision; 

(f) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English, and be able to communicate effectively in English; 

(g) have good computer skills, including Excel and database management; and

(h) have good administrative, communication, and presentation skills.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
