Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “From segmental sequencing to pitch-variation skills: New insights for diagnosing childhood apraxia of speech”. He/She will be required to:
(a) assist in project management, recruit human subjects and perform data collection;
(b) conduct data analysis, including ultrasound tongue imaging, acoustic analysis and International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) transcription of Cantonese for normal and disordered population;
(c) assist in literature review; and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a master’s degree or a good honours degree in Linguistics, Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related disciplines, or an equivalent qualification with research/relevant work experience;
(b) experience working with individuals with speech and/or language disorders;
(c) asic knowledge in phonetics;
(d) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
(e) good computer literacy including SPSS, R, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
(f) good teamwork, interpersonal and organisation skills.
Preference will be given to native speakers of Cantonese or those familiar with Cantonese.
