Student Development Officer

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    support the Student Development Section by coordinating initiatives that promote whole-person development, leadership enhancement and multi-cultural campus life;

(b)    provide guidance and support to student groups and associations;

(c)    coordinate student representation and related communications;

(d)    assist in administering the funding resources and facilities in support of student-led activities;

(e)    provide secretarial support to meetings as well as working groups, and support the operation and general administration of the Office; and

(f)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours occasionally, and conduct off-shore trips for student development related programmes when necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree; 

(b)    have at least two years of work experience, preferably in working with university students; 

(c)    possess resilience, good interpersonal and communication skills;

(d)    be able to demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently;

(e)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage; and

(f)     have good computer literacy.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
