Assistant Campus Sustainability Manager

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) lead engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to implement sustainability-related strategies and action plans;
(b) lead joint-university and other sustainability campaigns to engage stakeholders of the University to nurture a green living culture and achieve performance-based outcomes;
(c) implement projects/programmes to achieve the strategic targets on campus sustainability performance, such as key performance indicators in focused areas as well as monitor and report the progress by soliciting and analysing performance data;
(d) oversee the sustainability performance data of the University, liaise with service providers, and coordinate the collection of relevant information;
(e) assist in policy review and formulation, and implementation of necessary measures to improve the environmental performance of the University;
(f) involve in the day-to-day operation of the Office, including but not limited to office administration, quality assurance, tender process, financial and procurement matters; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree, preferably with a higher degree, in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Building Engineering or related disciplines;
(b) have at least five years of solid post-qualification experience at supervisory level within the environmental and sustainability field in a sizable organisation;
(c) have sound knowledge in waste management, carbon accounting and user engagement;
(d) be able to work and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive projects forward, demonstrating solid time management and sharp attention to details under tight deadlines;
(e) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua;
(f) have outstanding leadership and problem-solving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, be self-motivated and be able to handle multi-tasking; and
(g) have the ability to work independently and be a good team player with good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills.
Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Senior Campus Sustainability Officer.
Preference will be given to those who have relevant professional qualification(s) in the environmental/sustainability discipline and a good knowledge of relevant regulations.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
