Manager (Temporary Appointment) (two posts)

Duties
The appointees will be required to:
(a) assist in formulating incubation and acceleration programmes to facilitate academic-led, student-led or alumni-led start-up for their entrepreneurship endeavour;
(b) develop and maintain strong relationship with partners such as investors (venture capital firms, family offices, impact investors, etc.), incubators, industrial experts and accelerations both locally and in the region;
(c) plan, implement and manage different entrepreneurship funding and incubation programmes in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland including new investment funds;
(d) work closely with faculties and researchers to support the commercialisation of research through technology venturing;
(e) manage the portfolio of invested or supported start-ups or spinouts, including but not limited to financial performance monitoring and reporting;
(f) prepare executive meeting documents for senior management; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship or his/her delegates.
Working on irregular working hours and travelling outside Hong Kong may be required.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline;
(b) have at least five years of solid post-qualification experience in entrepreneurship development, incubation, innovation and R&D, including experience gained in venture capital, start-up company, incubator, activities and competitions, and the higher education sector;
(c) have strong communication and presentation skills with excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua;
(d) have excellent network with the key stakeholders in start-up development in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area;
(e) have experience in mentoring/coaching/working with early-stage companies in the areas of product development, business plan, raising capital, marketing, and management, preferably with experience in university’s research commercialisation;
(f) be a good team player, proactive and dedicated to work;
(g) have a positive can-do attitude, and be creative, highly independent and motivated;
(h) be able to work under pressure and meet tight schedules with project management capability; and
(i) have good computer literacy and be willing to learn.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
