Part-time Research Assistant

Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “An interactional approach to enhancing translation students’ AI literacy”. He/She will be required to:
(a) assist in designing and implementing interactional activities (e.g., workshops, focus groups, peer discussions) aimed at improving translation students' understanding and use of AI tools;
(b) help develop and validate an AI literacy assessment framework and instruments (e.g., questionnaires) specific to translation education;
(c) coordinate with participating classes and instructors to recruit student participants and facilitate data collection (e.g., pre/post surveys, interviews, video recordings of interactions);
(d) assist in transcribing, coding, and analysing qualitative interaction data (e.g., discourse analysis, thematic analysis) and quantitative data (e.g., Likert-scale responses);
(e) conduct literature reviews on AI literacy, human-AI interaction, translation pedagogy, and related fields;
(f) assist in preparing progress reports, conference presentations, and journal articles; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a good honours degree or an equivalent qualification;
(b) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;
(c) have a strong interest in AI literacy, human-computer interaction, or technology-enhanced learning in translation/language education;
(d) have experience or familiarity with qualitative research methods (e.g., interviews, focus groups, discourse analysis) and/or quantitative methods (e.g., survey design, basic statistics);
(e) have good teamwork, communication, and facilitation skills; and
(f) be proficient in computer applications and basic data analysis tools (e.g., NVivo/MAXQDA for qualitative data, Python/R for quantitative data).

Conditions of Service
The remuneration rate is HK$125 per hour.
