Project Associate / Project Assistant

[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]
Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the project – “Smart teens actions project – ASCEND tech for good scheme”. The scheme is designed to nurture entrepreneurs for smart city that addresses pressing social challenges such as digital divide. The appointee will be required to:
(a) maintain and strengthen the visual identity and branding of the programme across all touchpoints, ensuring consistency in communications, marketing initiatives, events, exhibitions, publications, and stakeholder engagement activities;
(b) create compelling visual content and branding materials for digital and print platforms, including but not limited to social media content, branding and promotional materials, publications, event collaterals, project documentation and other communication assets;
(c) oversee the production and implementation of design deliverables, including artwork preparation, vendor liaison, print production, exhibition setup and quality control;
(d) plan and coordinate project events, workshops, and showcases, including venue arrangement, programme design, participant experience, stakeholder liaison, and on-site event support;
(e) support programme marketing and communications initiatives through content creation, social media management, promotional campaigns, media support, and stakeholder engagement activities to enhance programme visibility and outreach;
(f) produce video content, multimedia presentations, and interactive materials to showcase youth-led projects and programme achievements; and
(g) perform other duties as assigned by the Interim Director of Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Project Associate post should have a master’s degree in Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, Event Management or relevant disciplines or a good honours degree in one of the said disciplines with at least three years of experience in creating visual content for social impact initiatives.
Applicants for the Project Assistant post should have an honours degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines, preferably with at least one year of experience in creating visual content for social impact initiatives.
Applicants should also:
(a) demonstrate strong proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and other digital design tools;
(b) possess a portfolio showcasing graphic design, social media content creation, and event collateral design work;
(c) have experience in planning and executing events, including logistics coordination and stakeholder management;
(d) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua;
(e) demonstrate creativity, visual storytelling abilities, and attention to detail in design execution;
(f) be able to work with minimum supervision and meet deadlines; and
(g) have multi-tasking skills.
