Senior Manager

[To be appointed at the substantive position of Senior Executive Officer]
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide high-level administrative support for at least one of the following major work areas:
• management of academic affairs within the Faculty, including management of undergraduate and taught postgraduate studies, the planning and implementation of learning and teaching strategies, curriculum development and reform, programme management, assessment, quality assurance, and the delivery of student-centred services; OR
• management of research affairs, including coordination of inputs for research assessment exercises, internal and external grants applications, finance management of research projects, management of research postgraduate studies and student matters; OR
• human resources management, including academic and non-academic staff appointments, staffing planning exercises of schools/departments under the Faculty’s purview, coordination of visits of potential academic applicants, and other staffing matters;
(b) offer secretariat support to Faculty committees;
(c) lead, motivate, and manage a team of experienced executive and clerical staff to achieve strategic objectives and consistently deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines;
(d) establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty, the Faculty Secretary or their delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree;
(b) have at least eight years’ substantial work and supervisory experience in the higher education sector, with a proven track record in leading one of the above-mentioned work areas;
(c) demonstrate strong experience in drafting formal documents and providing secretariat support for committees;
(d) exhibit strategic leadership skills, with good experience in motivating administrative teams to achieve organisational goals and deliver quality outcomes under pressure;
(e) possess excellent communication skills, with a superior command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
(f) display a high level of responsibility, independence, and professionalism in managing multiple priorities; and
(g) demonstrate strong analytical, forward-thinking, and sound decision-making abilities.
Preference will be given to those with a master’s or higher degree.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
