Senior Technical Officer

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide technical support to the Unit for smooth operation and maintenance of laboratories and facilities as well as coordinating their uses across different projects to ensure a collaborative and efficient research environment;
(b) identify, evaluate and integrate technological advancements to enhance research and teaching capabilities of the Unit;
(c) provide technical support for preparation and execution of experiments and technical demonstrations for various purposes in the Unit;
(d) act as the primary liaison for technical matters as well as coordinating with internal departments and external organisations to resolve technical issues; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline;
(b) have at least five years of solid post-qualification experience and supervisory experience;
(c) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
(d) have good teamwork and interpersonal skills; and
(e) be able to work under pressure and perform multi-tasks independently.
Preference will be given to those with higher academic qualifications.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
