Project Associate / Project Assistant (Full-time/Half-time/Part-time)

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research projects - “Peking University-The Hong Kong Polytechnic University China Social Work Research Centre” and “Social work response to climate change in China and Belt & Road Regions: a transdisciplinary approach - monsoon houses by Bangladeshi boat craftsmen”.  He/She will be responsible to develop design through drawing and modelling of the boat design of monsoon houses.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Project Associate post should have a master’s degree or a good honours degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering or other related disciplines with three or more years of research/relevant work experience.

Applicants for the Project Assistant post should have an honours degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines or an equivalent qualification.

Preference will be given to those with experience in spatial, structural or floating/boat-based design systems, as well as familiarity on climate-responsive or vernacular design approaches, particularly in coastal or monsoon context.

Conditions of Service

For full-time and half-time appointment, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.

For part-time appointment, the remuneration rates are HK$181 per hour for the post of Project Associate and HK$125 per hour for the post of Project Assistant.
