Senior Manager, Communications and Public Affairs (Branding and Marketing)

Duties
The Senior Manager (Branding and Marketing) will support and enhance the University’s branding and marketing efforts, contributing to its reputation among key stakeholders. The role will focus on planning and executing branding campaigns, engagement activities, and leading major branding-related projects and events such as the University’s 90th Anniversary initiatives.
The appointee will be required to:
(a) Event Strategy & Special Projects
• plan, lead and execute flagship University events and special projects such as the 90th Anniversary programs, that support the University’s strategic goals;
• oversee all event management operations, from high-level project planning, budgeting, and physical logistics to VIP protocol, high-profile invitations, and contingency planning;
• direct and manage external creative agencies, event production houses, and vendors to ensure high-quality event execution;
• ensure consistent messaging and branding across all event-related and project-related materials and touchpoints;
(b) Brand Communications, Marketing Execution and Cross-team Collaboration
• implement branding concepts in multimedia marketing campaigns that highlight the University’s strengths and distinctive features, and oversee them to completion;
• write and design unique and well-crafted branding manifestos and copies for a wide variety of marketing and promotional initiatives;
• work closely with colleagues in branding, design, marketing, and other internal units to ensure a consistent and coherent brand image across all touchpoints;
• manage the execution of integrated branding campaigns, including timelines, content, and coordination with related partners/stakeholders;
(c) Digital Content Management
• plan, implement and optimise content marketing strategies that enhance the University’s presence, engage target audiences, and foster brand affinity through compelling storytelling and interactive content;
• oversee and coordinate the development of digital content (e.g. web, social media, eDMs, multimedia) that aligns with the University’s branding objectives and resonates with different audience segments;
• transform the University’s priorities and narratives into creative content across various formats such as dynamic graphics, engaging videos, and interactive presentations;
(d) Performance Tracking and Budget Management
• monitor, analyse and report on the performance of branding campaigns and digital initiatives, assessing their effectiveness against agreed objectives and KPIs;
• manage assigned marketing and project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources; and
(e) Additional Duties
• participate in other branding, marketing and communications projects as assigned by the Director of Office or her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree and substantial experience, preferably ten to fifteen years or above, in branding, marketing, communications, or related areas;
(b) proven experience in branding and marketing, with a solid track record in branding campaigns, digital content strategy and social media management;
(c) demonstrated expertise in event management and storytelling, with strong communication and presentation skills;
(d) excellent planning and project management skills, with the ability to analyse data and translate findings into actionable insights;
(e) creative thinking with a strategic and solutions-driven mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at different levels; and
(f) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
