Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) serve as Secretary to the Dean of Students;
(b) assist in staffing matters, coordination of human resources issues and office administration;
(c) assist in the financial and accounting operations of the Office, including budget planning, forecasting, monitoring and expenditure control;
(d) assist in procurement, purchasing, processing of payments, and reimbursement of student-related activities / scholarships in accordance with the University’s financial guidelines;
(e) prepare and compile administrative and/or financial documents and reports;
(f) provide secretarial support to committees / meetings;
(g) liaise and coordinate with internal and external parties on student affairs;
(h) provide support to functions / programmes organized or supported by the Office; and
(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work beyond or outside normal office hours where necessary.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) possess a recognised degree, preferably with a higher degree;
(b) have at least five years of relevant post-qualification work experience;
(c) have strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to manage multiple priorities effectively;
(d) have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and professional attitude when engaging with different stakeholders;
(e) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua;
(f) have good computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; and
(g) have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
