Security Officer

[to be appointed at the substantive level of Facilities Officer]
Duties
The appointee will report to the Security Services Section and be required to:
(a) provide one-stop client-focused facilities management services as well as supervise a team of operational staff, including security guards;
(b) plan, organise and co-ordinate with internal and external parties for the repairs and maintenance, replacement, upgrading and installation of security systems and properties of the University;
(c) liaise with different stakeholders and co-ordinate the provision of security guarding services on the campus;
(d) assist in preparing specifications and drawings for various security systems and facilities, and evaluate the received tenders if necessary;
(e) monitor the progress/quality of works performed by both contractors and in-house staff;
(f) perform shift duties, including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when required; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree, or a recognised certificate or diploma or an equivalent qualification plus not less than 3 years of relevant experience;
(b) good customer-oriented mindset and interpersonal skills; and
(c) the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
