Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research projects - “Constructing multi-level datasets on urbanising China”, “PolyU Mainland university consortium for social wellness in the AI era”, “Enhancing community mental health services in rural China: A pilot study in Yunnan” and “Family-focused interventions for adolescent emotion-related school non-attendance: A co-produced comparative pilot study in Shanghai and Kunming”. They will be required to:
(a) provide logistics support;
(b) retrieve data from research records, social media platforms and maps;
(c) develop methods for GIS and Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) of narrative, social media and Point of Interest (POI) data; and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by Head of Unit or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow post should have a doctoral degree in Social Sciences or other related disciplines or an equivalent qualification and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.
Applicants for the Research Associate post should have a master’s degree in the above-mentioned discipline or an equivalent qualification.
Applicants should also:
(a) have a good command of academic writing in both English and Chinese;
(b) have good interpersonal and organisational skills;
(c) demonstrate competence and skills in project management; and
(d) be able to work independently and efficiently.

Conditions of Service
For full-time appointment, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
For part-time appointment, the remuneration rate is HK$181 per hour.
Consideration of applications will commence on 15 July 2026 until the positions are filled.
