Assistant Officer / Executive Assistant (Temporary Appointment)

[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with the possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    provide administrative and secretarial support for the planning, coordination, and implementation of Department’s programmes and promotion campaigns, including student engagement functions, marketing activities, research seminars, events and visits;

(b)    assist in compiling and preparing publicity materials, invitations, news and reports, etc.;

(c)    assist in the liaison with internal and external parties;

(d)    create, maintain and update content on Department’s website and social media platforms;

(e)    supervise junior staff and student assistants for general office administration and related activities; and

(f)     perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree, preferably with at least three years of relevant post-qualification experience;

(b)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(c)    be able to work independently and proactively;

(d)    possess good communication and interpersonal skills; and 

(e)    have sound knowledge of computer applications.

Applicants with less experience will be considered for the post of Executive Assistant. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
