Principal Compliance Officer

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) support the Head, Legal, Risk and Compliance, to review, enhance and implement the risk management and compliance frameworks, policies and procedures at institutional and departmental levels;
(b) develop and execute organisation-wide training and awareness programmes to foster a strong culture of compliance and proactive risk management of the University community;
(c) identify emerging regulatory, business and/or operational risks, and formulate systematic and effective mitigation plans;
(d) monitor and conduct review on compliance with statutory requirements, best practices, and internal policies and procedures; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Vice President (Administration and Development) or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Law, Risk Management or a related discipline;
(b) have not less than fifteen years of experience in risk management and regulatory compliance, including at least ten years in a managerial role;
(c) have proven ability in change management, planning and execution of risk management and compliance initiatives;
(d) have strong knowledge of the regulatory environment, governance and risk management;
(e) have excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills as well as the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments;
(f) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua;
(g) have strong interpersonal and communications skills; and
(h) be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
