Assistant Manager

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    provide support in coordinating institutional collaborative platforms and programmes;

(b)    assist in managing activities with industrial partners related to collaborative research and technology development;

(c)    actively liaise and build up good relationship with the academic and research community, industry and various stakeholders to enable effective implementation and communication of projects and initiatives;

(d)    be in charge of planning, organising and coordinating events, meetings, workshops, exhibitions and various promotional activities of the Office; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.

The appointee will be required to travel to the Chinese Mainland and overseas occasionally.

Qualification

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree in Science, Technology, Business or a related discipline;

(b)    have at least five years of relevant post-qualification work experience, preferably in event organisation, business development, innovation and technology development and/or marketing;

(c)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua;

(d)    have excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

(e)    be self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines; and

(f)    have demonstrated good planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
