Associate Engineer

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) facilitate student learning and development, and develop corresponding curriculum and pedagogy;
(b) lead and coordinate student learning modules and subjects, and promote teaching quality among colleagues;
(c) provide research support and conduct knowledge transfer activities;
(d) assist in the implementation of strategic actions;
(e) conduct essential activities for the operation in the assigned team;
(f) interact closely with stakeholders in the University; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Centre or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree or a higher degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Automation or a related discipline;
(b) familiarity with at least one programming language, such as C++, Python, MATLAB or Java;
(c) experience in system integration, software development or technical support; and
(d) a good command of written and spoken English.
Preference will be given to those with:
(a) experience in developing or using large language models, text-to-speech or speech-to-text applications or building AI models using platforms such as cuDNN, TensorRT or C++ programming in Linux;
(b) hands-on experience in virtual platform development for projects or teaching content delivery;
(c) experience in Android or iOS app development or in user interface development for PC or mobile devices;
(d) knowledge of robotics or the Internet of Things (IoT); or
(e) experience in PC maintenance or IT support, such as PC cloning, system maintenance and upgrades.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
