Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Revisiting the legal reforms of Emperor Wen of Han: An examination of the newly-excavated legal manuscripts from three early Han tombs”. He/She will be required to:
(a) collect and organise related research materials/data and conduct research in the fields of early Chinese history and excavated manuscripts;
(b) assist in organising academic talks, workshops, and conferences;
(c) assist in preparing teaching materials; and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) an honours degree in Chinese history or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification;
(b) the ability to read Classical Chinese;
(c) knowledge of and experience in academic databases, library resources, and other local and international academic resources in Chinese humanities;
(d) strong ability to search, collect, and organise research materials and data;
(e) strong computational skills and the willingness to learn new skills;
(f) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; and
(g) the ability to work independently.

Conditions of Service
