Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the project - “Mobile robotic automation system for a high‑mix anodizing line”. The appointee will work closely with the project team to develop software for successful system commissioning such that he/she can gain hands-on experience in robotic automation, system integration, testing and commissioning. The appointee will be required to:
(a) develop robotic software for automation sub-modules and mobile base within the designed framework;
(b) develop and test user interfaces for robotic operation, monitoring and control;
(c) support the implementation of software-based safety functions;
(d) conduct system testing, data acquisition, parameter logging and troubleshooting; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) an honours degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline or an equivalent qualification;
(b) a strong interest in software development (C++ and Python) or embedded programming, preferably with experience in ROS2 middleware;
(c) experience in or knowledge of user interface development, preferably using Qt libraries; and
(d) a good command of both written and spoken English.
