Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Mobility resilience in rainy season: enhancing transport equity for seniors through barrier mitigation, adaptive station design, and paratransit system optimization”. He/She will be required to:
(a) conduct high-quality research on senior mobility, transport equity, rainy-season travel barriers, station accessibility and paratransit system optimization;
(b) lead or participate in transport-related research projects, including research design, field survey, data collection, data analysis, modeling and report writing;
(c) collaborate with academic institutions, government agencies, public transport operators and community stakeholders to support evidence-based transport planning and policy recommendations; and
(d) prepare academic papers, project reports and presentation materials for journals, conferences, workshops and stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a doctoral degree in Transportation Engineering, Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Operations Research, Public Policy, Data Science, or a related discipline and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application;
(b) strong research background in urban transport, public transport planning, accessibility analysis, transport equity, elderly mobility or mobility resilience;
(c) solid skills in quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, optimization, simulation or machine learning; and
(d) strong ability to conduct independent research, prepare academic papers, and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
Preference will be given to those with experience in using transport modelling tools.
