Assistant Officer

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide support to the administration of undergraduate/postgraduate programmes including admission, subject registration, class timetabling, examination, servicing subject coordination, student liaison and professional accreditation;
(b) assist in the coordination of co-curricular activities, e.g. summer placement, exchange programmes, seminars, career talks etc.;
(c) provide support to marketing activities and scholarly events, such as Information Day, Congregation, school visits and conferences;
(d) provide logistics and secretarial support to committees and meetings;
(e) provide administrative support to departmental exercises, such as dissertation allocation in master degree programmes and final year project, workload exercise etc.; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree or an equivalent qualification with at least three years of relevant work experience preferably gained in tertiary institutions;
(b) have good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills;
(c) be detail-minded with a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently;
(d) have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage; and
(e) good computer literacy, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Chinese word processing.
Preference will be given to those with solid relevant work experience in programme administration in tertiary education sector.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
