Duties 

The appointee will join the Technology Transfer Assessment Unit in the Office of the Senior Vice President (Research and Innovation) and he/she will be required to:

(a)    review all documentation pertaining to knowledge transfer, commercialisation, knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship (KTE) and the related investment activities of the University and ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, regulations, ethical and regulatory standards;

(b)    identify, assess and monitor risks that could affect compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and keep up-to-date with new policies, regulations and laws that may affect the University;

(c)    conduct due diligence on involved partners to confirm reliability and alignment with University’s objectives;

(d)    coordinate with internal and external auditors or investigators, and maintain complete records of all compliance activities; 

(e)    support in developing compliance procedures, ensuring the adherence of best practices and regulatory standards, while offering guidance and training to staff members on compliance issues; and

(f)     perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President (Research and Innovation) or his/her delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should:

(a)    possess a recognised degree;

(b)    have at least eight years of experience at supervisory level in the higher education institutions; 

(c)    have experience in evaluating contract terms and ensuring compliance with governance practices, policies and guidelines in higher education institutions;

(d)    have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua);

(e)    have strong analytical and interpersonal skills; and

(f)     have attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and under pressure. 

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test. 

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
