Assistant Officer

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) oversee the administration (including internal affairs, university-wide services and external engagements), collaboration and marketing activities of the Unit;
(b) support the planning, coordination and implementation of the Unit’s activities, including seminars, workshops, symposiums, visits and large seasonal events;
(c) coordinate the production of publicity materials, invitations, news and departmental publications such as reports, newsletters, brochures and audio-visual materials, etc.;
(d) manage the website and social media platforms of the Unit;
(e) develop promotional strategies and partnerships for the Unit;
(f) provide secretarial support to various committees, meetings and working groups;
(g) liaise and coordinate with different units of the University, students, alumni as well as external organisations; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree with some relevant post-qualification experience;
(b) have good communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills;
(c) be well-organised and attentive to detail;
(d) be able to work independently and handle sensitive matters with due care and professional manner;
(e) have good computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Chinese word processing; and
(f) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
Preference will be given to those with solid operation experience in social media platforms or marketing/promotional experience gained in tech giants.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
