Executive Officer (two posts)

Duties 

The appointees will be required to:

(a)    lead the research team to provide comprehensive administrative support for research initiatives and postgraduate student admissions;

(b)    oversee student admission process and ensure the accuracy and integrity of subject registration records;

(c)    coordinate and organise departmental research seminars, workshops and other research-oriented academic activities; 

(d)    manage research attachment programs and coordinate the preparation of annual progress and departmental reports;

(e)    review and provide administrative support for research grant proposals to ensure compliance with funding body requirements;

(f)     provide professional secretarial and administrative support for departmental committees;

(g)    supervise junior administrative staff; and

(h)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    possess a recognised degree with at least five years’ solid post-qualification administrative work experience at supervisory level, preferably in research administration in a tertiary institution;

(b)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua;

(c)    be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other common office productivity tools;

(d)    have good communication, interpersonal, organisational and analytical skills; and

(e)    be proactive, able to work independently and multitask.

Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment at a lower rank.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
