Assistant Accountant (Payment)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    process supplier invoice, student and staff claims, ensuring compliance with University’s policies, funding guidelines and Key Performance Indicators;

(b)    process payment runs (auto-pay, telegraphic transfers and cheques, etc.) in a timely manner;  

(c)    perform bank reconciliations and liaise with user units and banks to resolve payment issues and handle enquiries in a professional manner;

(d)    support user acceptance test for finance digitalisation projects; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or his delegate.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines; or a recognised diploma/certificate plus at least one year of work experience in accounting, auditing and other related fields;

(b)    proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with hands-on experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system will be an advantage;

(c)    a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; preferably with fluency in Putonghua; 

(d)    strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; and

(e)    a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
