Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    provide administrative support to the University’s central laboratories, academies and research facilities, and manage their research projects and schemes;

(b)    provide administrative and secretarial support to related committees and research facilities, as well as relevant support to external parties, systems and section head;

(c)    co-ordinate and communicate with both internal and external committees and research facilities;

(d)    prepare regular reports and presentations summarising research information for management and stakeholders;

(e)    manage research projects in the project management system; and

(f)     perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.

Qualification

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree with at least five years of relevant post-qualification work experience, preferably with experience in university administration and research facility management;

(b)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(c)    have good computer literacy and be familiar with MS Office;

(d)    possess positive attitude and good interpersonal skills;

(e)    be creative, highly independent and self-motivated; and

(f)     be willing to learn and take on new responsibilities with a strong sense of ownership.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
