Part-time Research Assistant

[Appointment period: six to twelve months]
Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Application of silk fibroin nanofiber-based flexible sensing systems in the conservation of silk textile artefacts”. He/She will be required to:
(a) assist in developing electrospun composite fibers/yarns;
(b) assist in analysing and characterising the performance of fiber-based devices; and
(c) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader, Dean of School or their delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) an honours degree, preferably with a master’s degree;
(b) research experience in polymer science, textile science, nanocomposite, flexible electronics or biomaterials; and
(c) good communication and experimental skills.
Preference will be given to those with publication record covering polymers or flexible devices.

Conditions of Service
The remuneration rate is HK$125 per hour.
