Assistant Manager

Duties
The appointee will support the planning and delivery of a wide range of engagement initiatives and alumni development programmes.
The appointee will be responsible for:
(a) organising and supporting major alumni engagement initiatives and events, including Alumni Homecoming, Outstanding PolyU Alumni Award, thematic or reunion series, etc;
(b) managing the operations and maintenance of the Alumni Atrium to ensure optimal utilisation and the facilities are maintained at a high standard;
(c) planning and coordinating the development of alumni souvenirs and benefits to enhance alumni’s sense of belonging;
(d) liaising and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of programmes and projects;
(e) preparing promotional and communication materials, maintaining and updating websites and social media platforms; and
(f) performing any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or her delegates.
The appointee will be required to work outside normal office hours from time to time, including evenings and weekends, to support events and programmes.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) hold a recognised degree in a relevant discipline;
(b) have at least five years of post-qualification work experience in areas such as event management, relationship management, membership management, marketing, communications and/or related fields;
(c) demonstrate strong planning, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills as well as proven communication and interpersonal abilities;
(d) possess an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) and proficiency with IT applications such as CMS, database management, marketing platforms, Canva, and MS Office;
(e) be proactive and creative, highly efficient, and able to manage multiple stakeholder groups; and
(f) be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
Preference will be given to those with previous working experience in tertiary institutions.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview and a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
