Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    handle research personnel recruitment independently;

(b)    provide administrative support to research programme and a wide range of activities, such as counter services, handling inquiries and managing filing systems;

(c)    assist in the organisation of departmental research activities including research seminars, forums and other knowledge exchange activities; 

(d)    provide logistic and operational support to the office and departmental activities, such as congregation and conferences;

(e)    provide support to the administration of General Office;

(f)    liaise and coordinate with other academic departments and central administrative units within the University as well as external organisations; and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should: 

(a)    have a recognised degree or an equivalent qualification, preferably with post-qualification work experience;

(b)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage; 

(c)    have good computer literacy and/or statistical skills;

(d)    have good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills;

(e)    be attentive to details, dynamic and able to work independently and proactively; and

(f)    be able to work under pressure and willing to work outside normal office hours when necessary.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
