Project Associate / Project Assistant

[Appointment period: eight months]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Tai Po Wang Fuk Court fatal blaze - community-based mental health support programme”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    provide overall coordination and support to the project; 

(b)    liaise with healthcare practitioners, staff members and non-governmental organisations regarding the development, implementation and evaluation of the project;

(c)    assist in the coordination of research activities and logistics arrangement for the project implementation;

(d)    monitor and follow up on the progress of the project;

(e)    develop and implement the data collection instruments (both quantitative and qualitative);

(f)     conduct literature review and focus group interviews;

(g)    conduct various workforce health related activities;

(h)    assist in data entry and analysis and manage both quantitative and qualitative data of the project;

(i)     assist in preparing manuscripts for publications;

(j)     assist in preparing progress and final reports of the project; and

(k)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Project Associate post should have a master’s degree in Social Science, Psychology, Nursing, Public Health or other health-related disciplines or a good honours degree in one of the said disciplines with three or more years of research/relevant work experience.

Applicants for the Project Assistant post should have an honours degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants should also: 

(a)    have experience in project management and clinical data management;

(b)    have an understanding of project execution in an educational setting;

(c)    be competent in administrative work, report writing and statistics reporting;

(d)    have knowledge of research skills and ethics;

(e)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(f)     have good interpersonal and communication skills; 

(g)    have a strong sense of self-motivation; and

(h)    be responsible and able to work independently.
